213869 - Psoriasis Biopsy Study

We are looking for male and female volunteers with active plaque psoriasis to take part in a biopsy study.

This study will be at our test centre in Broughton Street Edinburgh - You will required to attend one visit.

This appointment will take approximately 1 hour and 30 mins.

In order to be eligible for this study, you must NOT:

Currently pregnant or at risk of becoming pregnant, or breast feeding

Taken systemic immuno-suppressants within 1 month prior to biopsy e.g. ciclosporin, azathioprine

Used or taken “biological therapies” whether this is systemic medication or other treatment therapies within 1 month prior to biopsy, e.g. Cimzia, Enbrel. If you are unsure if your medication is classed as a biological therapy, please speak to test personnel.

Applied any topical steroidal medication/products for 2 weeks prior to your appointment. (Please note that if you must take the medication due to a flare up, you should do so, however you would not be able to take part in this study.

Known allergies or sensitivities to local anaesthetics.

Any history of delayed wound healing.

Currently taking any medication which increase bleeding or delay healing of the wound, such as anticoagulants e.g. Warfarin and Aspirin.
